The financial difference between domestic and foreign holidays has decreased significantly in recent years. While ten years ago, a family weekend in the Slovak aquapark was about half a cheaper than a short holiday by the sea, it is no longer the exception that The family spends almost as much in the home resort in three days as it would cost to Croatia or Northern Italy. This was stated by Tomáš Bočáček, analyst 365.bank.
“A five -day stay at the Adriatic, including transport, accommodation and regular meals, will be released in 2025 according to estimates of travel agencies at EUR 1200 to 1600 for a four -member family. If the family does not travel in the main top and chooses their own transport and apartment accommodation, the costs often approach the sums that Slovak families leave at home centers for a combination of accommodation, entry and catering for a long weekend, ”he said.
According to him, the Slovaks are increasingly hesitant whether it is worth investing a higher amount in their home attraction, or rather to combine money and go to the sea. “In addition, foreign stay expenditure can often be divided into more months in advance, while home attraction means an immediate financial burden that will hit the family budget especially during the holidays,” underlined.
“Interestingly, despite higher prices, many Slovaks still prefer home attractions, especially on shorter trips or so -called weekends. The reason is good availability and a constantly expanding offer of news. Aquaparks attract new water slides, thematic programs or evening events that can keep families longer and motivate them to visit again. Operators are trying to stand up not only among themselves but also against foreign destinations, which are still a great attraction for us, ” added Boháček.
