Drunken and flip -flop man completes 8km race and wins medal

A resident of Northern Garrafão, in the interior of Pará, went viral on social networks by completing a visibly drunk 8 -kilometer race, wearing slippers and without any physical preparation.

Isaac participated in the race in a makeshift way and crossed the finish line, winning a participation medal. The episode took place at a sporting event held in the municipality. According to Isaac himself told in an interview published on Instagram, he spent the night before in a bar.

On the morning of, still dealing with the effects of the drink, decided to take a walk around the central square of the city and came across the movement of the corridors. That was when he decided, in improvisation, to align the start and participate in the race.

Videos recorded by residents show that the moment when he, without warming, starts with speed, using slipper, and surprises by surpassing several competitors along the way.

Although initial rumors indicated that he would have won the test, the organization clarified that Isaac did not reach the podium, but concluded the route ahead of many participants. As everyone who completed the race received medal, he was also awarded.

The repercussion generated a wave of solidarity. Residents of the region have mobilized to help him by offering sports sneakers, appropriate clothes and encouragement so that he can train in a structured manner. With over 70,000 followers on Instagram, Isaac now tries to turn the episode into a turning point. Sincerely, he said in networks that he wants to “get out of the life of cachaça, addiction and get a job.”
