Fire scared residents, but no one was injured in the incident
São Paulo, SP (UOL/Folhapress) – Residents of Ashcroft, a 1,600 people village in Canada, were momentarily without light after a fish dropped into the region’s electrical wiring.
Fish was released by a sheet eagle, a bird of prey. When falling, he touched simultaneously on two wires, causing instability in the power grid and spreading sparks over the dry grass. The case happened last Wednesday.
The sparks began a fire in the area. The fire destroyed an area of 5,400 m², but was quickly controlled with 18,000 liters of water.
Firefighters believe that the eagle has fishing the fish three kilometers from the point of the fall. “The suspicion is that, due to the size of the fish and the heat of the day, the tired bird dropped the prey,” said the local firefighter service on social networks.
No one was injured by fire. The bird that would have knocked down the fish was found well and hunting in the region on Friday.
