Strong rains in the south of South Korea claimed at least one victim on Monday night, eight injured and thousands of people were evacuatedthe authorities there said on Monday. According to Jonhap, TASR reports this.

A total of 2559 people resorted to safety in Sančchong district as a result of tidal rains. The Korean Meteorological Office (KMA) estimates that 50 to 200 millimeters of rainfall fell in areas in the south to Monday morning, in some coastal regions of the Southern Čolla province of 250 mm.
On Sunday evening, the body of a 60-year-old man was found by the flood wave in the Muan district in the southwest. Another eight people suffered injuries in a road accident on a motorway in the nearby Damjang district on the same day, where the vehicle crashed into the crash barriers.
On Sunday at 23.00 local time (4 pm CEST), the Crisis Directorate increased the emergency room for heavy rains by one degree to level 2. KMA predicts heavy rains on Monday throughout the country. In some areas due to tidal rains, warning warnings against heat and Monday are expected temperatures from 29 to 34 degrees Celsius.
