It is also worth remembering the rules of cycling outside the city, on the trail, in the national park, in the forest or in the mountains. Children and adolescents aged 10 to 17, while on their own bike, must have a bicycle card.
In the countryside
Just like in the city, you need to drive bicycles if they are available. If not, you can use the road by sticking to the right edge. You can enter the pavement only if the pavement is width of min. 2 meters and there are conditions in which the road is dangerous. Cycling on express roads, and even more so on highways, is prohibited.
On the trail
A bicycle trail is a good choice. They are prepared for a bicycle. You will find specially designated parking spaces where you can relax or make a picnic. Trails also lead to tourist most attractive places. On the Internet you will find many maps and descriptions in which you will find not only the length of the route, but also its level of difficulty. Bicycle routes are marked with white squares with green or colorful pictograms.
In the forest
In the forest it is worth riding a bicycle trail, but there are no obstacles to move your own way. The tourist service of the State Forests will help you plan a forest trip. You will need GPS, compass and map of the area, preferably on a 1:50,000 scale, with marked forest troops. With most road intersections in the State Forests you will find stone posts with numbers written on each side. These numbers mean troops from a given side of the post. If you got lost, you will find out where you are and in which direction you should go.
In the National Park
Bicycle routes are located in most parks. The total ban on cycling is valid in the Babiogórski and Narew National Park.
At the seaside
One of the most beautiful R10 bicycle routes leads along the coast. This is a fragment of the international trail. You can beat the whole Polish episode or choose only a fragment. It is worth – you will stop when you want to be sunbathing or bathing in the Baltic Sea. Earlier, however, plan accommodation.
In the mountains
For riding in the mountains you need a MTB mountain bike and good condition due to elevations. It’s best to move on bicycle routes.

Anna Choszcz-Sendrowska, spokeswoman for the State Forests
Anyone who would like to spend the night in the state forests “under the cloud” can do it free of charge. For this purpose, foresters designated special places that can be found in almost every forest district in Poland. They can also be found on the website timewlas.pl. Each of these places has its own regulations, because each forest is different. From the regulations we will find out where we can light a bonfire, whether we are allowed to use a gas stove, etc. It is also worth saving contact to a person who coordinates the “Zanujuj in the forest” program, because it can always be useful. Be careful where we break the tent or hammock – whether it is not, for example, the migration trail of wild animals. We can say this trying to find the clues or traces of animals. Before sleeping, we should also properly protect food and rubbish so that they do not tempt the inhabitants of the forest. Be sure to remember to protect against ticks and mosquitoes and absolutely remember to leave open fire unattended. Sleeping in the forest with children can be an unforgettable adventure, however, it is worth choosing such a step, after prior familiarization of our children with the forest, e.g. through full -day trips or camping several hours during the day.
