An extraordinary meeting will be held on Tuesday by his Security Council to discuss the situation of hostages at the United Nations on Sunday (3/8) by the United Nations, Dan Danon.
The announcement was made through social networks, along with the intense outcry that caused videos showing two prisoners from the Palestinian organization, obviously exhausted and malnourished.
Danon stressed that the Council would convene “to discuss the critical situation of hostages in Gaza” amid UN experts on humanitarian disaster in the region.
Limited humanitarian aid entry into Gaza
The entrance to Gaza remains extremely limited by the UN organizations and humanitarian groups complain that much of the aid is being looted.
Many, in despair, risk their lives to access whatever foods and medicines reach the enclave through controlled channels.
Earlier on Sunday, the Israeli prime minister asked the Red Cross International Committee to mediate to provide food to hostages.
In response, Hamas’ armed wing said he would allow the Commission to access hostages only if “humanitarian corridors” for food and help throughout the Gaza Strip.
The three videos with hostages
In recent days, Hamas and its ally Islamic Jihad have posted three videos showing two hostages arrested during the attack on October 7, 2023, which triggered the current war.
The images of Roman Braslavsky and Eviat David, both obviously weak and malnourished, have become the reason for new requests to Israel on a truce and a hostage liberation agreement.
