The protagonist of a video that circulated throughout Brazil, the resident of Northern Garrafão, in northeastern Pará, identified as Isaac, thrilled by revealing that he dreams of leaving behind the dependence of alcohol and build a new trajectory.

He became known after participating, drunk and slipper, of an 8 km street race held on July 27.

“I was taking two there, dawned and went for a walk around the square. I saw a crowd and decided to run to see if the hangover would leave the body,” he said, remembering how he decided to enter the race. He completed the route, pulled applause and won a participation medal.

The episode, which could have been just a curious scene, became a point of reflection for the makeshift corridor.

“My dream is to get out of this life of cachaça, addiction, get a job and have family and friends to help me”

“I want change in my life, being in drunkenness, being in addiction business is not a future for my life, I do not want to give expenses for family members,” he added.

Isaac also stated that the race aroused in him the desire to seek new ways. “The race really called my life to be a champion, God’s thing,” he said.

According to the City Hall of Garrafão do Norte, since it has gained notoriety, it has been often seen training through the city streets, this time sober and with appropriate sneakers.

“Repercussion throughout Brazil after completing an 8 -km athletics race using an Hawaiian sandal last weekend, Isaac is now being seen often training through the streets of our city. We are happy for this story and in the crowd to mark the beginning of a new, transformative and beautiful cycle in Isaac’s life,” the organ published on social networks.
