Armed groups attacked Syria’s internal security personnel in suede, killing one member and injuring others, while launching shells against villages in the affected south province, Ekhbariya’s state television network said today.
The report cited a security source saying that the armed groups violated the truce agreed in the area, with a mainly population of Drouz, where hundreds of people were killed in fascist conflicts last month.
Violence in the Sueida broke out on July 13 between tribal fighters and Fathes. Government forces were sent to suppress conflict, but violence worsened and Israel carried out air strikes against Syrian troops on behalf of Druze.
A ceasefire under the US mediation put an end to the battles, raging in the city of suede and the surrounding cities for almost a week. Syria said he would conduct a survey of conflicts, setting up a committee to investigate the attacks.
