Booking a stay in a campsite seems, at the outset, a quiet experience, but reality does not always meet expectations. Some places accumulate online negative assessments and leave visitors with memories that will hardly be forgotten. Among the most mentioned examples in the neighboring country is a campsite that gained notoriety for the criticism he receives in the main tourism platforms, having been considered one of the “worst of Spain”.
According to El Mundo, this campsite, located in Chiclan, Spain, on the Las Lagunas Road, occupies an area of over 32,000 square meters and already brings together dozens of negative comments on sites such as TripAdvisor and Google.
Despite having the official four-star classification, almost half of the evaluations classify it as “terrible.” In addition, the space does not appear listed on platforms, such as Booking. In the case of TripAdvisor, even if you select multiple dates, there is always a warning that there is no availability.
An experience that surprises rightly on arrival
According to the same source, the reception is made in a small stone house with two windows and works almost as a control point for those who enter the space. It is possible to rent tents overlooking the padel fields for about 68 euros per night, but the minimum stay is two nights. Some visitors report that they were required to reserve three nights coinciding with events in the region.
Reports published by the Spanish newspaper describe tents with signs of poor conservation: food remains on the floor, intense smell to tobacco and poorly sanitized mattresses. The atmosphere is dominated by so -called fixed clients, many of them families who occupy installments all year round and have created a kind of small walking urbanization.
An employee of the space, who has been working there for 18 years, explained that permanent users end up conditioning the park’s operation and alter the landscape, removing vegetation to install huge caravans and makeshift structures.
Between pools and constant complaints
Adds the publication that the local pool is one of the most criticized points. Visitors report episodes of slim water and situations that demotivate the dive. Outside the water, the social environment blends long -stay families with occasional visitors, and the coexistence is not always simple.
“Fixed customers end up creating their own dynamics that make it difficult for those who come only a few days,” he reads, who cites testimonies of attendees and officials from the Spain Club Federation.
Criticism of the restaurant
At the buffet restaurant that works inside the room, but does not belong to the park, visitors find rigid rules. Between employee confidences and customer observations, a tendency towards complaints related to cleaning and space management is clear.
The latest assessment published in TripAdvisor summarizes the feeling of several visitors. “My stay in this campsite was one of the worst experiences of my life,” wrote Stella María, classifying the place as “horrible.”
