Three serious injuries in a collision between ambulance and truck at A28 in Esposende

The injured are two firefighters (a man and a woman) and a nurse who were following in the ambulance.

Three serious injuries is the result of a collision between an ambulance of Viana do Castelo volunteer firefighters and a truck on the highway 28 (A28) that occurred Monday in Palmeira de Faro, municipality of Esposende, a source of the firefighters said.

The alert was given at 14:52, and the accident occurred in an climbing zone, towards Esposende-Viana do Castelo.

Traffic has been cut in this regard, but in the meantime it already runs in a conditioned manner. The victims had to be dismissed. For help, 43 operational, supported by 16 vehicles were mobilized.

The source said that place is the scene of frequent accidents, resulting from the low speed to which the heavy ones circulate, because it is a sharp climb.

At the time of the accident, the ambulance would be returning to Viana do Castelo after an emergency service.
