Detention occurred on Monday
The Angola Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) detained in Luanda a 58 -year -old man for possession and alleged illicit diamond trafficking following the seizure of 989 alleged diamond stones.
According to the Angolan authorities, the detention occurred on Monday, as part of a search and seizure warrant issued by the Public Prosecution Service and executed by the central direction of combating illicit trafficking, precious metals and crimes against the environment, in coordination with other defense and security forces.
During the operation were seized several means usually used in this type of criminal activity, namely a digital precision mini-balancing, two magnifying glass, a calculating machine and a video surveillance system (CCTV) found in the suspect’s office, which presents itself as a trader, indicates the SIC in a statement.
The citizen, coming from Guinea-Concry will be present to the Public Prosecution Service “for subsequent legal procedures”.
