Former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) had his cell phone seized by the Federal Police on Monday (4), after Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Court (STF) ,. The measure, according to the minister, is justified by non -compliance with the precautionary measures imposed in the inquiry into the attempted coup d’état after the 2022 elections.
The new search and seizure occurred at Bolsonaro’s house in Brasilia and is part of compliance with the restrictions established by Moraes.
In the decision, the minister pointed out that Bolsonaro used allies and family profiles to continue to instigate attacks on the Supreme and promoting support for foreign interventions against the Brazilian judiciary. The minister also pointed out a connection with Federal Deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG), seen as continuing attempts of improper interference in the functioning of justice.

Moraes stated that Bolsonaro’s acting, albeit indirect, constitutes a deliberate violation of the prohibition of political and digital communication, maintaining “active influence on the public debate by alternative roads”.
