Bolsonaro did not comply but will not be arrested. Judge warns that it was "isolated irregularity"

In the decision, Judge Alexandre de Moraes argued that the former president has shown “repeated non-compliance with precautionary measures”.

Judge Alexandre de Moraes, from the Supreme Federal Court (STF) of Brazil, decreed this Monday house arrest for former president of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro.

In the decision, the judge argued that the former president has shown “repeated non-compliance with precautionary measures”.

According to the decision, Bolsonaro is prohibited from receiving visits, except for his lawyers, and may only receive contacts from persons authorized by the Supreme.

The former president is still forbidden to use the mobile phone, directly or indirectly through third parties. This Sunday, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro made a video call with his father at the demonstration in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro.

Moraes also reaffirms the decision that maintained the precautionary measures that prohibit the former president of contact with ambassadors and approaching embassies or foreign authorities, as well as maintaining a ban on the use of social networks.

“Failure to comply with the rules of house arrest or any of the precautionary measures will result in its revocation and immediate deliberation of the pre -trial detention, pursuant to Article 312, 1, of the Code of Criminal Procedure,” says the judge.
