The vice-mayor, Altineu Côrtes (PL-RJ), said on Tuesday (5) that, at the first opportunity he has to occupy the presidency of the Chamber, will guide the bill that amnesty convicted of participation on January 8.
As vice president, one of the possibilities for Côrtes to fully assume the command of the House would be on international trips by President Hugo Motta.
“I, as vice of the House and Congress, always sought balance and dialogue. I always respected Motta, who has the agenda in his hand. In the face of facts, I already communicated Motta that, at the first moment I exercise the full presidency of the Chamber, when Motta leaves the country, I will guide the amnesty,” said journalists.
Since last year, the project has benefited those involved in the acts of January 8.
In practice, the text does not benefit former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), who is ineligible until 2030, but is that forgiveness extend to the former executive chief, so that he resumes eligibility and can dispute the elections next year.
After threats of obstruction and several manifestations of the right by amnesty, the mayor decided that it would not guide the project to urgently.
Hugo even sought dialogue with representatives of the three powers to reach a consensus alternative, as the government is contrary to the proposal, but there was no practical advancement.
