The prime minister allegedly confirmed Monday night that a decision has been made to complete it. In fact, it will also hit areas where hostages are held.
A senior official affiliated to the prime minister said that “The cube was thrown out – we will be fully possessed by the Gaza Strip”. In fact, he confirmed the information about hits everywhere.
“There will be businesses even in areas where hostages are being held,” he added.
Clear Netanyan message to IDF
An indication of the situation is the fact that Benyamin Netanyahu is said to have given an ultimatum to the IDF commander. “If the head of the IDF staff does not agree, he should resign,” the source said.
IDF currently control about 75% of the Gaza Strip, but according to the new plan, the army is expected to occupy the rest of the ground, setting the entire enclave under Israeli control. It is not clear what such a move would mean for millions of stripe civilians and humanitarian groups active in the pocket.
The IDFs have stated that they are opposed to the occupation of the entire Gaza Strip, while the army estimates that it will take years to clear up all Hamas’s infrastructure. It could also put the hostages at risk of executing if the troops approach where they are held.
Wreck in negotiations
The announcement comes after months of talks in Doha between Hamas, Israel and Ombudsman to reach a ceasefire agreement.
Hamas demanded that hundreds of trucks with help would have to enter the Gaza Strip to return the terrorist organization to the negotiations, despite increased international efforts to surrender to the Palestinian enclave in a way that will bypass Islamists.
Hamas also released a video during the weekend, which showed weakened hostages and claimed to starve as a result of extensive hunger in the Gaza Strip.
