Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) established new precautionary measures against former President Jair Bolsonaro on Monday. House arrest was decreed indefinitely.
With the decision:
- Bolsonaro will remain with an electronic anklet;
- The former president is forbidden to receive visits without authorization from the Supreme Court and to use cell phone;
- Only Bolsonaro lawyers and people who live with the former president can have contact with him. In this situation are former first lady Michele Bolsonaro and the couple’s daughter.
- People who are allowed to visit the former president will not be able to use their cell phone, take pictures or record images.

The precautionary measures were determined in the inquiry in which Eduardo Bolsonaro, a federal deputy for the São Paulo PL, is investigated for his performance with the government of US President Donald Trump to promote retaliation measures against the Brazilian government and ministers of the Supreme. In March this year, Eduardo asked for a parliamentary mandate license and moved in the United States on the grounds of political persecution.
