It is the first country to financially boost its Purl mechanism (Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List) for the delivery of weapons to the 500m euros, as announced today by Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Bekelmans.

“Ukraine needs immediate reinforcement of anti -aircraft defense and ammunition,” Brekelmans said in a post on the X platform, adding that his country will offer 500m euros for the delivery of US weapons systems (including Patriot rockets). “This will help Ukraine defend itself as well as the rest of Europe from Russian attacks,” he said.

In a statement published on the Dutch Defense website, it is stated, among other things, that other countries have pledged to strengthen the new program. In this context, Ukraine will be able to draw military equipment from the US Armed Forces stocks, for which other NATO member states will pay. The US is releasing military assistance in packages worth about $ 500 million, including weapons systems and munitions adapted to Ukraine’s needs.

US President Donald Trump had stated last month that the US is considering the delivery of weapons to Ukraine to be funded by European allies, without then in further details.
