In his decision, the magistrate states that Bolsonaro repeatedly displeased the precautionary measures imposed on July 18, by preparing “prefabricated material” for posting on social networks of his supporters with content to encourage attacks to the court.
The trigger for the warrant of Monday was the participation of the former president in demonstrations on Sunday (3). Bolsonaro was forbidden to leave his residence in Brasilia on weekends, but spoke to participants of acts via telephone.
The content was later shared on social networks.
“The disguised participation of Jair Messias Bolsonaro, preparing prefabricated material for disclosure in demonstrations and social networks, clearly demonstrated that he maintained the unlawful conduct of trying to coerce the Supreme Court and obstruct justice, in the blatant disrespect previously imposed precautionary measures,” wrote Alexandre de Moraes.
“The political supporters of Jair Messias Bolsonaro and his children deliberately used the lines and participation – albeit by telephone and social networks – by the defendant to spread attacks and promoters with the clear intention of pressuring and coercing this supreme court,” he concluded.
