South of Slovakia is still haunted by a viral disease: Hygienists record a new fireplace

The Regional Public Health Authority (RÚVZ) Lučenec records a new outbreak of viral hepatitis A (VHA). The disease appeared in the village of Šárov, epidemiologically related to previous cases in the Lučenec district. RÚVZ informed about it on the website.

Hygienists have recorded in the past week In the village of Šahrok one case of hepatitis A, the disease was infected with a minor child. “The case was in an epidemiological connection with confirmed positive cases to VHA in Fiľakovo and surrounding villages,” said RÚVZ.

The increase in cases of VHA in the district of Lučenec was recorded by RÚVZ early summer in Fiľakovo and in adjacent villages. According to hygienists, jaundice should have been imported from abroad. Currently, hygienists within the district record an inactive focus in Bulhary and five active outbreaks in Fiľakovo and in the villages of Šíd, Tomášovce, Radzovce and Šávož. So far, a total of 39 diseases have been recorded, two cases have been added in the 31st calendar week.

Type A hepatitis is a transmissible disease, it causes viral liver inflammation in humans. The virus is most often transmitted by direct contact. The disease begins with symptoms resembling influenza and gastrointestinal symptoms associated with abdominal pain, joints, general nausea, with elevated temperature, and dark urine is also present. In a few days, most of the sick will appear jaundice.
