The wool damaged one of the floating pier. At the time of the earthquake and the subsequent tsunami at the base, two assault nuclear submarines of the Ash class were anchored.

The tsunami wave, which hit the coast of the Russian Far East last week, also caused damage to the Rybachi Maritime Base. This stems from satellite images showing damage to one of the floating pier. On Monday, Radio Free Europe/Radio Freedom (RFE/RL) informed about it, TASR writes.

The east of Kamchatka last Wednesday has been hit by the world’s strongest earthquake since March 2011, which has been affected by Japan and caused a nuclear crash in Fukushima. It is also one of the six strongest recorded earthquakes. In addition to the Russian coast, the tsunami waves also hit Hawaii and Japan.

The epicenter was located in the ocean area about 140 kilometers from Rybachij. At the time of the earthquake and the subsequent tsunami at the base, two assault nuclear submarines of the Ash class were anchored.

Sidhárt Kašal from the British Royal United Services Institute for Telegraph said that only one battleship anchored at the damaged pier and the submarines were not there. The evidence does not indicate that the vessel is also damaged.
