New operation against the province of. The Civil Guard has seized just over 10,000 liters of gasoline distributed in carafes they had as. Two 28 and 30 -year -old young people have also been arrested in a double operation carried out in the localities of El Ejido and Adra, in which four semi -rigid vessels have been intervened. The researchers underline that the fuel was saved without any safety measures and exposed to the high summer temperatures, which meant a great risk for security.

The police action is the nth that the Civil Guard executes in recent months against organizations that are dedicated to supplying fuel to drug trafficking, smuggling and the networks that traffic with people. They are in the province due to the police pressure in Cádiz or the Costa del Sol, but also because criminals can take advantage of the labyrinthine roads between greenhouses and the numerous coves that are away from populations. The most commonly used formula is to collect gasoline in different service stations and then take it to clandestine stores and, from there, transport them to the high seas into fast boats and supply the mafias. To try to avoid it, the Almeria command performs continued operations both in the Cabo de Gata area and in the west.

On this occasion the result is due to a double operation carried out between this Tuesday and Wednesday. The first performance was carried out in, where the agents located a van parked on public roads and loaded with 400 liters of gasoline distributed in carafas. “In addition to lacking the security conditions required for the transfer of this type of substance,” says the Civil Guard, the material “supposed an obvious danger to the population and the environment.”

The second was carried out in Adra, where the researchers managed to find the location of a gas storage point, which also served as a logistics base for. In this place, an old booth built with concrete and cane blocks, in addition to the greenhouse plastics, one step away from the sea, more than 10,000 liters of fuel and four semi -rigid boats were found, all with their respective engines. “In case of exploding, the power of deflagration could be comparable to that of 90 kilos of dynamite,” they point out from it, where they insist that the carafes were exposed to the high temperatures of the area, which aggravated the risk.

The agents say that those who are dedicated to this activity, whatever the phase in which they are involved – from filling the carafes in gas station until they keep them or take them by sea -, “, which is none other than the supply to mafias dedicated to the traffic of human beings, to drug trafficking and other illegal activities.” So far two men, 28 and 30, have been arrested, in these operations, although the investigation remains open to clarify the facts and determine the possible involvement of more people.

Only a few days ago, A, the Civil Guard arrested three people who transported 1,825 liters of gasoline in carafes in a vessel with four engines of 300 horses each. Before, in April, an operation allowed to locate 4,750 liters of fuel that were allegedly going to be used to supply vessels used in illegal activities on the coast of Almería. Part of the seized material was located in the Alcazaba beach area, where it was hidden between bushes, a few meters from the shore, and arranged for fast charging. The rest was found inside a van, next to a pneumatic vessel with a 40 -horsepower engine. Before, in January, another operation allowed four vessels dedicated to the same illegal activity to intervene. The most relevant action, however, dates back to the summer of last year, when 50 people – all members of the Lates Clan – were arrested in Adra. , which supplied on board 25 vessels and six water motorcycles, in addition to five firearms.
