The authorities of the Gaza Strip, controlled by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) have “vigorously condemned” at dawn on Wednesday what they have described as “the last bloody chapter” of Israel, after the death of 20 Palestinians after a truck with humanitarian aid overturned over dozens of people in search of food while driving on roads “insecure” due to the Isreli attacks.
“The last bloody chapter has taken place tonight, when 20 people have been martyred and dozens have been injured in the central governorate while trying to reach food aid,” the Gazatí government media office has denounced on their telegram channel. “A truck that transported food overturned on them after the occupation forced the truck to enter on insecure roads that had been bombed previously and were not suitable for the passage,” he detailed.
The entity has accused the Israeli authorities of “deliberately preventing these trucks being insured and avoiding access to them to those who need them.” “Rather, it forces drivers to take crowded routes of hungry civilians who have been waiting for the most basic needs for living weeks,” he said. “This results in attacks against these trucks and the confiscation of their content”, scenes that, the office alleges, are part of the “hunger and chaos engineering” of the Israeli army.
The Gazati authorities have denounced that Israel is “committing the crime of mass famine against” more than two million people and has pointed to “a systematic policy aimed at breaking the resistance and social fabric” of the Palestinians.
Thus, he has “strongly condemned this policy (…) that constitutes an authentic crime of genocide according to international humanitarian law”, and has responsible for Israel and its allies, citing the United States, of the derived humanitarian crisis.
Therefore, it has made a new call to the international community “to intervene urgently in order to end this crime, impose a total, safe and sustainable opening of the border crossings and guarantee the flow of food, medical aid and fuel for life without obstacles or political conditions.”
