Mandi or Mandim, as it is also known, is a very popular fish among riverside communities, both for nutritional value and economic potential. The species is widely found in turned and busy waters, such as those of Juruá, and usually appears in larger numbers at specific times of the year, when the conditions of the river favor fishing.
