The Federal Highway Police (PRF) seized, on the afternoon of Wednesday (6), about 40 kg of gold during an approach in the city of Altamira, in the southwest of Pará.
The approximate value of the load is $ 23 million.
Preliminary information indicates that the material was being transported in a pickup truck.
The vehicle was stopped around 3:20 pm on a highway that cuts the municipality. The driver was taken, along with the gold seized, to the headquarters of the Federal Police in the region.
The action occurs two days after another major seizure made by the PRF, when 103 kg of gold were found in Boa Vista (RR). At the time, the material valued at about $ 60 million was in a car occupied by a couple and a baby.
