In the video released on social networks, you can see vultures flying over space and a large amount of trash spread in the open. Indigenous and residents seek remnants between the debris, exposing themselves directly to the risk of contamination and disease.

The scenario draws attention for abandonment and regression in solid waste treatment policy in the municipality. The previous management had begun the process of acquiring an area for the construction of a landfill within the standards required by law, but, according to complaints, the current administration did not continue the project.

The lack of action by the municipal government also raises questions about the role of the Public Prosecution Service of Acre (MPAC) and the supervisory bodies, which have not yet intervened in the case.

Families and companies living nearby are also affected by pollution, bad smell and constant presence of animals attracted by waste, such as vultures and rodents.

The population demands explanations from the city and urgent measures to contain environmental and sanitary damage. To date, the municipal administration has not publicly spoken out about the problem. The information is from the news of the news.
