Finance Minister states that text will be sent to President Lula, responsible for deciding the day of the formal announcement
The Minister of Finance, said on Wednesday (6.ago.2025) that the plan to assist the sectors affected by the United States is already “pronto” in your ministry. According to him, part of the project may come through a provisional measure.
The head of the economic team stated that the text will be sent until the end of the day to the Civil House. Then it is up to the president (PT) to launch the actions and make a formal announcement.
“We told him [Lula] qThe company issue per company does not, of course, need to be dealt with by law. It may be as a regulatory object. But, of course, the president’s act, he will find it convenient. Possibly it will have to be a provisional measure ”Haddad said in an interview with journalists at the headquarters of his ministry in Brasilia.
A provisional measure is a rule with force of law issued by the President of the Republic. Theoretically, it should be used in urgent and relevance situations.
The text is worth immediately after publication, but needs to be approved by the National Congress within 120 days to become a definitive law.
Trump’s tariff
The tariffs imposed by the United States of (Republican Party) against Brazil came into force. The measure began from 1h01 (Brasília time) of this 4th (6.ago.2025).
The US president is a 50% rate on Brazilian imports. It is a rate of 10% general plus an additional 40% charge.
In practice, the measure will leave Brazil exports to the most expensive United States.
