After a day of protests and the pocket opposition for the vote of the amnesty and against the measures imposed by the Supreme Court for former President Jair Bolsonaro, the presidents of the two houses canceled the sessions scheduled for Tuesday (5) and spoke up of a note.
Mayor Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB) posted on a social network that
Accompanies the situation in Brasilia since the early hours of today, including what has been happening now in the afternoon in the House Plenary.
“I determined the closure of the session today (5) and tomorrow I will call the meeting of leaders to deal with the agenda, which will always be defined based on dialogue and institutional respect. Parliament must be the bridge for understanding,” he added.
Hugo Motta was scheduled today in Paraíba and anticipated the return to Brasilia, which was scheduled for tomorrow.
Senate President David Alcolumbre (Union-AP) released a note stating that “Parliament has obligations with the country in the assessment of essential matters to the Brazilian people. The occupation of the tables of houses, which makes it impossible to function, constitutes arbitrary exercise of their own reasons, something unusual and oblivious to democratic principles. Return work with respect, civility and dialogue, so that Congress will continue to fulfill its mission in favor of Brazil and our population, ”he said.
Still in the note, Alcolumbre says he will hold “a meeting of leaders for common sense to prevail and regular legislative activity.”
