United States President Donald Trump, determined to influence the organization of the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 2028, created a working group that he himself will preside over the subject, a decision that could generate friction with local democratic authorities.
Faced with the cameras, Trump signed a document that establishes the task force and promised to “mobilize the entire federal government to ensure that the Olympic and Paralympic Games are safe, occur without continuation and a historical success.”
Several government officials and close to Trump advisers will participate in the working group, including Vice President Jd Vance.
“We will do everything possible for the Olympic Games to be safe, including the use of the National Guard and Military Personal in Active Service,” Trump anticipated.
The US President ordered the National Guard to send California in June against the state governor’s recommendation, Democrat Gavin Newsom, something extremely uncommon.
He said he wanted to restore the order in Los Angeles after protests against migrant arrests by federal migratory authorities.

Casey Wasserman, president of the Los Angeles Games Organizing Committee, announced that the Olympic flame will travel to the 50 states of the United States. Trying to minimize the tension, Trump told Trump that if he wants to carry the torch, he will be “more than welcome.”
It wouldn’t be the first time. Trump carried the Olympic flame through the streets of New York before the Athens Games in 2004.
