According to the research Profile of the Brazilian drivercarried out by the Nexus Institute, 20 million people currently drive without qualification throughout the country. Among the interviewees who have not yet regularized, 49% point to the high cost of CNH as the main reason for not taking the document.
In the case of Acre, the amount charged for the first qualification exceeds states such as Amazonas (R $ 3,418.95), Pará (R $ 2,802.45) and Rondônia (R $ 2,355.22).
In comparison with all Brazil, the state has the 6th most expensive CNH, being behind only Rio Grande do Sul (R $ 4,951.35), from Mato Grosso do Sul (R $ 4,477.95), Bahia (R $ 4,120.75, Minas Gerais (R $ 3,968.15) and Santa Catarina (R $ 3,906.90).
The perception of the high value is almost unanimous among respondents: 80% consider the CNH “expensive” or “very expensive”, and 66% believe that the price paid does not match the quality of the service provided by self -school and traffic agencies.
In addition to the financial difficulty, the lack of qualification directly impacts traffic safety. Unsuction drivers pose greater risk on roads, as they do not undergo training and evaluation required by Brazilian law.
