A Brazilian suspected of killing Five poisoned children was arrested last Tuesday (5), in the Portuguese city of Coimbra.
Gisele Oliveira, 40, had been a fugitive from the Brazilian court for at least two months and had been arrested by Interpol.
In a statement, the Portugal Judiciary Police stated that the crimes would have occurred between 2008 and 2023, in Minas Gerais, when the woman applied high doses of sedatives to her children.
After poisoning, the children had complications and died.
According to information from Itatiaia, the woman only began to be suspected of the crimes after her mother seeks the Brazilian authorities and denounce suspicious attitudes of her daughter.
After the accusations, Gisele fled from Brazil and lived in Portugal with a man, also Brazilian.
In all, two children died in 2010, another two in 2019, and the last in 2023. Crimes always occurred at night, so that there were no witnesses.
Also according to the Portuguese police, the woman should now be questioned and be in pre -trial detention, while awaiting the extradition process to Brazil.
