Eletrobras has a loss of R $ 1.3 billion in the 2nd quarter

The company reversed net income of R $ 1.74 billion, noted in the same quarter of 2024

Eletrobras had a net loss of R $ 1.32 billion in the 2nd quarter of 2025, falling 176% and reversing net profit of R $ 1.74 billion from the same quarter of 2024. When considering the adjusted net profit, the result of the 2nd quarter was positive at R $ 1.46 billion.

The difference between the accounting damage and the adjusted profit highlights the impact of extraordinary factors on the results of Eletrobras, according to the document.

Adjusted profit excludes non -recurrent effects and shows that, even with the declared damage, the company maintained a positive result in its main operations.

According to the report, the adjusted net income is due to:

  • Increased generation revenue higher than production advances with production and energy purchase;
  • Increased recognition of transmission revenue; and
  • Reduction of 4% of PMSO spending (personnel, material, services and others) and financial expenses.

Highlights

In the 2nd quarter, Eletrobras had net operating revenue of R $ 10.2 billion, up 21.5% over the same period of 2024.

Net debt totaled R $ 40.13 billion in the 2nd quarter of 2025, an increase of R $ 850 million compared to the previous quarter and a reduction of R $ 2.84 billion compared to the same period of 2024.

Eletrobras also reported that it has expanded its customer customer base to 688, an increase of 24% over the same period last year.

In the report, the company said it will distribute $ 4 billion in dividends to 240,000 shareholders in late August.
