Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) said on Thursday that there is an agreement in Congress to guide the “general and unrestricted” amnesty vote to those involved in the undemocratic acts of January 8, including his father, Jair Bolsonaro (PL). The former president is a defendant in an inquiry in the Federal Supreme Court (STF) that investigates attempted coup after the 2022 elections.
“We are not here arguing that there is an agreement to approve the amnesty, we are arguing that there is an agreement to guide the amnesty in both the House and Senate. And who has majority will take this,” Flávio said at a press conference.
Amnesty together with other measures, it was claimed in the acts of opposition to President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) in Congress. The physical obstruction of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate ended this Thursday after more than 30 hours.

Flávio and the other opposition parliamentarians argue that both amnesty to those involved in January 8 and the impeachment of Moraes and the end of the privileged forum would be a way to “pacify” the country. The government base denied that the mayor, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB) had agreed to guide the amnesty. In an interview with UOL on Thursday, the ruling federal deputy Rogério Correia (PT-MG) said the agreement was made only among the opposition parties.
