Dean Cain, a former Superman actor, revealed that he will join the ranks of the US Immigration and Customs Agency (ICE), showing his support for the repression of immigration by US President Donald Trump.

Cain’s comic book hero played on the 90’s television series “Lois & Clark: Superman’s new adventures” may have been an immigrant himself, but it seems that the actor has a stricter view of the arrival of foreigners to the United States.

Cain revealed that he decided to join the agency after sharing one of Ice’s recruitment videos on social networks the day before.

“Actually, I’m … an oath -oath sheriff and a police officer in the reserve – it was not part of Ice, but as soon as I published the recruitment video and you put a small note on your program, it was crazy,” Cain told Fox News presenter Jesse Watters. “So now I talked to some Ice employees and I will be sworn in as ICE agent as soon as possible.”

Asked what motivated the change, Cain, who is a well -known conservative in Hollywood, said: “This country was built by patriots who got up, whether popular or not, and did the right thing. I sincerely believe this is the right thing to do.”

Cain described the US immigration system as “failed,” saying, “Congress needs to correct it, but for now, President Trump campaigned with it. He is fulfilling his promise. That’s why people voted. That’s why I vote and he’ll take it ahead and I will help ensure that it happens.”

Cain’s public promise to join Ice comes at a time of significant acceleration in the application of the immigration law, with the Trump administration to stop hundreds of immigrants every day across the country.

But CNN’s analysis of agency data revealed a sharp division between the blue states and the red states regarding the places where ICE makes these arrests.

In the states that voted for Trump, ICE agents tend to arrest immigrants directly in prisons and chains.

On the other hand, in states of Democratic trend, ICE often arrests immigrants in the workplace, streets, and massive police operations, which has caused intense protests and reactions in cities such as Los Angeles. Most detainees have no criminal record.

Overall, ICE is making more detention in republican states than in Democrats – both in the community and especially in prisons and chains – according to the organization’s own data.
