The Minister of (Supreme Federal Court) caused great excitement and affectation between sectors of public opinion, the right and pockets for breach of precautionary measures approved by the Court.
Called a censor and tyrant, and the target of a tremendous clowning of trump holders in Congress, the minister seemed suddenly being the number one public enemy of free expression and democracy in Brazil.
The magistrate is often treated skewed as if they took only monocratic measurements, without the back of court collegiate, in the taste of his moods. Admittedly, there is, whose justice temperament, as you have already commented here, could and should be tamed. They are very scarce, moreover, to say the least, the political skills shown by him.
It is not bad, in any case, that hypercritical reactions of zeal for democracy come to light. Better than the suspicious silence that many of the outraged dedicate to the lethality and violations of citizens’ rights of the peripheries by the São Paulo police, under the auspices of Governor Tarcisio de Freitas, a kind of political unicorn of the “Moderate Bolsonarism” lineage.
But what I would like to speculate, in fact, is to what extent the flaming reactions to Moraes reflect above all the ancestral fear of Brazil in the face of rupture, characteristic of our political culture, always contemplating accommodation solutions, for which everyone can escape their responsibilities.
It is not too much to remember that we are the country of accordions and exits over it, which has consecrated the broad, general and unrestricted amnesty, rewarding the basements of the dictatorship. The same country in which the 1964 coup and supporters of the coup, a shocked creature in those basements-even being discussed their impeachment, when the justifications were clamorous.
Now, when evidence of the coup plot gets rise, the STF, unprecedented, is not intimidated by scammers and civil-military pacts. Moraes represents a solid obstacle to a new round of indulgence. It is the dread of the right in front of the penalty.
