Federal Deputies Lula da Fonte (PP-PE) and Chico Alencar (PSOL-RJ) discussed, on Wednesday (6), in The Great Debate (Monday to Friday, at 11pm), if Senate President David Alcolumbre should guide the impeachment of Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Federal Court (STF).
The opposition leader in the House, Deputy Luciano Zucco (PL-RS), said that in the Senate.
Lula da Fonte understands that it is not the time to discuss impeachment and that there are more important guidelines that need to move forward.
“This issue of impeachment of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, as the president of my party spoke, Ciro Nogueira, is unenforceable. This proposal has no way to reach the 54 votes necessary,” he said.
“We also believe, above all, that it is not the time for us to be able to melt more instability in the country, more fights between powers. So, we have to seek harmonize these instability, harmonize the relationship between executive branch, legislative power and judiciary,” he continued.
Chico Alencar believes that the discussion about the impeachment of Moraes is not aligned with the public interest.
“It is something that does not add to the population, it is unfeasible, it will generate a lot of debate and a zero result. The mountain would give a mouse. In fact, it is very delicate for you to determine the impeachment of a Supreme Minister who can only be by the Senate, where he was sabbatinated,” he defended.
“He is a brave minister that sometimes, in fact, no one is infallible, he can overdo it here and there, but he is a Supreme Minister who has to be respected. […] We have to devote ourselves to agendas that interest the population, ”he said.
