Since August 2024, the pain of the Flight 2283 of Voepass has become moving. With 62 lives lost in a tragedy that shook the country, family members of the victims decided to organize themselves. Then came the Association of Family Family Family 2283, created with the objective of uniting families, charging answers and keeping alive the memory of those who are gone.
At meetings, in the press, public hearings and behind the scenes of the investigation, the association began to play an important role: to give face and voice to the suffering of dozens of families. “The association is strength, support and voice. We unite to try not to let it all be forgotten,” says Adriana Ibba, mother of little Liz, 3, one of the victims of the tragedy.
Bianca Faller, who lost uncle André Michel in the accident, recalls that the union was critical to dealing with a long and often silent investigation process. “In the early months, we were already together in meetings with Cenipa, the Federal Police, Anac, and in conversations with deputies and representatives of public agencies,” he says.
The national commotion generated by the accident also mobilized Congress. A special committee was created to accompany the consequences of the tragedy and, from it, seek to advance in the creation of national protocols to care for victims and relatives of victims of air accidents. The objective is to establish guidelines that guarantee psychological, legal, logistics and institutional support from the early hours after an accident.
Today, there is no public policy in Brazil that establishes this type of support clearly and structured. The proposal under discussion intends to change this.
Tribute to victims
Next Saturday (9), the day when, family members of all 62 victims should meet for the first time in Vinhedo, the city where the aircraft fell. The program foresees ecumenical acts, honors and moments of reflection. More than 400 people are expected for events, which mark the closure of a week of memory, investigation and fight for justice.
