Investigation ongoing
The causes of the accident are still investigated by the Center for Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention (Cenipa), the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) body. A preliminary report, released in September 2024, pointed out that the main hypothesis is the accumulation of ice in the wings of the aircraft. Records of the black box revealed that the co-pilot, Humberto de Campos Alencar e Silva, reported the intense ice formation minutes before the fall.
Cenipa reported that the investigation is complex and multidimensional, requiring strict and integrated data analysis, including satellite information, flight simulators and experimental flights to reproduce the conditions faced by the aircraft. Human, psychological and operational factors are also being evaluated. The final report, which will point out the factors that contributed to the accident, has no date to be disclosed.
Recently, a testimony of a witness to the portal G1 He revealed that the pilot who used the same aircraft at dawn prior to the accident would have reported failures in the defrost system. However, the problem would not have been registered in the Technical Diary, a mandatory rule, which may be a key piece for the investigation.
Search for answers and security
The Family Family Association of Flight 2283 has actively acted in the search for responses, justice and support to families. In addition, an external commission accompanies investigations and should analyze next week a report that questions the authorization to take off the plane amid adverse weather conditions.
For family members, the pain of loss is daily and the struggle is for tragedies like this not to repeat. “Today I fight that no other Liz [sua filha, uma das vítimas] be placed in the situation that my daughter was. So we can get a plane and have security, ”said Adriana Ibba, mother of one of the victims.
