The US delegations, Ukraine and Europe will meet in the United Kingdom before the Trump-Putin summit. Discussions are to be directed towards a uniform attitude towards the end of the conflict.

High -ranking representatives of the United States, Ukraine and several European countries have planned to meet in the United Kingdom over the weekend before the bilateral summit between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The information was brought by Axios news portal, referring to three anonymous sources familiar with the planned negotiations, writes TASR.

The proposal for the organization of such a meeting allegedly came on Friday during a call between American, Ukrainian and European officials. Axios claims that there are currently discussions on the meeting parameters and is not yet known who should participate in it.

The portal states that the reason for its organization is the fear of Ukraine and some European countries, that Trump can proceed to Putin’s proposals to end the war without considering their attitudes.

Russia demands the territory

The US President on Wednesday phoned his Ukrainian counterparts Volodymyr Greeny and some European leaders to inform them about the meeting between Putin and his special ambassador Steve Witkoff. According to two sources of Axios Witkoff, he informed the leaders that Putin had agreed to end the war if Kiev resigns Donetsk and the Luhansk region.

During Friday’s call, representatives dealt with coordination of the common attitude. “We have focused on coordination of positions to achieve a permanent and fair peace in Ukraine as soon as possible. We are ready to work as effectively as possible to save lives and stop fighting,” confirmed the head of the office of Ukrainian President Andri Jermak.

Trump on Friday on his social network Truth Social wrote that he will meet Putin next week, Friday, August 15, in Alaska, USA. The meeting was also confirmed by the Russian side. The US President had previously noted in the White House that “there would be an exchange of territories for the benefit of both parties”, Ukraine and Russia, but did not provide details about what he meant exactly.
