Iran has arrested 20 people who claim to be Israeli espionage agents in recent months, the judiciary said on Saturday, warning that they will not be lenked and will be transformed into example.
On Wednesday, Iran executed a nuclear scientist named Rouzbeh Vadi, who was convicted of spying to Israel and passing information on another dead nuclear scientist in Israel’s air attacks against Iran in June, state media said.
Judiciary spokesman Asghar Jahangiri told reporters in Tehran on Saturday that the accusations against some of the 20 suspects were withdrawn and they were released. He did not provide a number.

“The judiciary will not demonstrate any mercy towards spies and agents of the Zionist regime and, with firm decisions, will make all of them an example,” Jahangiri told the Iranian media.
He said all the details will be released as soon as the investigations are completed.
Iranian executions convicted of espionage to Israel have increased significantly this year, with at least eight death sentences in recent months.

The Hrana Human Rights Group reported 1,190 Iranian deaths during the 12 days of Israeli attacks, including 436 civilians and 435 security officials.
Israel said 28 people were killed in Iran’s retaliation attack.
