Miriam Leitão was born in Caratinga (MG) on April 7, 1953. It is the 6th of 12 children of Uriel, educator and presbyterian pastor, and Mariana, educator. He began his career in Espírito Santo and passed through Brasilia and Sao Paulo before moving to Rio de Janeiro in 1986.
