The writer and journalist Miriam Leitão took office on Friday (8.ago.2025) of the 7th Chair of the (Brazilian Academy of Letters) and joined the 39 members of the institution. Miriam Leitão was born in Caratinga (MG) on April 7, 1953. It is the 6th of 12 children of Uriel, educator and presbyterian pastor, and Mariana, educator. He began his career in Espírito Santo and passed through Brasilia and Sao Paulo before moving to Rio de Janeiro in 1986.
In more than 50 years of profession, he worked on vehicles such as Gazeta Mercantil and Jornal do Brasil. Since 1991, she has been working at Grupo Globo, where she is a columnist for the newspaper The globecommentator no Good morning Brazilna GloboNews and on the radio CBNin addition to presenting the Miriam Leitão program in GloboNews.
