A protester is taken by police in a “Lift the Ban” demonstration in support of the Proscritical Palestine Action group, which calls for the end of the recently imposed ban on Parliament Square, in downtown London

A total of 365 Palestine Action supporters were arrested on Saturday (9), during a demonstration in support of this pro-prohibited organization and classified as a “terrorist,” London police said. This prohibition was considered “disproportionate” by the UN. Seven people were also arrested by the Metropolitan Police for other infractions, including aggressions against agents, although none was seriously injured. Police clarified that they had detained or “in the detention process” of all the people carrying the poster “I oppose genocide, support for Palestine Action”.

At the scene, protesters exhibited other posters such as “acting against genocide is not a crime” or “Free Palestine.” Palestine Action was included in July on the list of organizations considered “terrorist” in the UK, after acts of vandalism perpetrated by their activists, especially on a aircraft base. The British government states that the supporters “are unaware of the true nature” of Palestine Action.

“It’s not a non -violent organization,” said Interior Minister Yvette Cooper, saying she has “worrying information” about her projects. Belonging to a forbidden group or inciting support to it can result in up to 14 years in prison in the United Kingdom. The Palestine Action group presents itself as a “direct action network” designed to denounce “British complicity” with the State of Israel, especially in the sale of weapons.
