The Israeli decision to take control of Gaza has caused the resistance of the Palestinian self -government. Critics warn that lack of assistance threatens the lives of thousands of people.

On Saturday, the Palestinian self -government criticized the decision of the Israeli government to expand its military operation in the Gaza Strip. At the same time, it called on the international community to put pressure on Israel to allow more humanitarian aid into the Palestinian enclave. According to the AFP report, TASR reports this.

A spokesman for the Palestinian self -government, Nabil, Abu Ruejna, said that the steps of the Israeli government are “an unprecedented challenge and provocation of international will to achieve peace and stability”.

Runejná also called on “the international community, led by the UN Security Council to urgently force the occupation state to end its aggression, allow the supply of aid and work hard to work in the Palestinian state to take full responsibility in the Gaza band,” WaFa reports.

Cabinet ignored the army

The Israeli security cabinet approved Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday night to take control of the densely populated city of Gaza. The Cabinet thus ignored the warnings of the Israeli army that such an operation will threaten the lives of the remaining hostages and at the same time can cause a humanitarian disaster.

Despite criticism of the plan from several countries on Friday, Netanyahu said on Friday on social networks that Israel “will not occupy Gaza, we will free Gaza from (Palestinian militant movement) Hamas”.

AFP notes that the Israeli Prime Minister is exposed to increasing pressure to ensure a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, where Hamas continues to detain Israeli hostages. In the Palestinian enclave, after 22 months of the war, which claimed more than 61,000 victims, spreading famine, and Israel continues to admit only a limited amount of aid to this territory, which, according to the UN, is not sufficient. The Israeli plan for the extension of the military operation was also criticized by Hamas, who described it as a “new war crime”.
