British Foreign Minister David Lammy and US Vice President Jd Vance will meet with Ukrainian and European allies in the United Kingdom on Saturday to discuss President Donald Trump’s initiative for peace in Ukraine, a Downing Street spokesman said.
British Prime Minister Keir Strmer spoke to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky before the security meeting, the spokesman said.

“The prime minister talked to President Zelensky of Ukraine this morning. They anticipated the meeting of the National Security Councilors of Europe, Ukraine and the United States, which will take place today, organized by the United Kingdom Secretary of Foreign Affairs and the US Vice President,” said the spokesman.
“They agreed that this would be a vital forum to discuss progress towards guaranteeing just and lasting peace,” he added.
Zelensky spoke about the telephone conversation with Starmer and said he was “grateful for his support.”
He noted that both leaders see the danger of the “Russian plan to reduce everything to an impossible discussion.”
Zelensky added that they agree with the need for a “truly lasting peace” to Ukraine.
