O SUL from Brazil dawned this Saturday (9) with a typical scenario of harsh winter: with a lot of snow. The phenomenon was recorded in São José dos Ausentesin the Serra do Rio Grande do Sul, where the thermometers even marked 4 °C and in São Joaquimin Santa Catarina, with the registration of 1 °C.

Forecast for the state
According to Climatempo, the Polar air mass that advances through the country topple temperatures in much of the national territorybut gains strength especially in the states of the region, favoring in places such as the Gaucho, West and North Campaign of Rio Grande do Sul, West Santa Catarina and southwest of Paraná.
Beyond frost, the Combination of intense cold with moisture in the highest areas can cause the so -called “frozen rain”when the water begins to freeze before touching the ground, forming damp flakes or partially frozen particles.
