Real Betis’s midfielder Isco suffered a fracture in the left leg fibula during a preseason friendly against Malaga and will be low indefinitely. The 33 -year -old had to leave the field after an entrance near the ankle, and tests confirmed the severity of the injury.
According to a club statement, it is a new fracture, unrelated to the Spaniard suffered in May last year, when he had to undergo two surgeries. Treatment will be conservative, and recovery time will depend on clinical evolution.
Even with some absences last season, Isco was a key piece in, scoring 12 goals and giving 11 assists. The team finished Laliga in sixth place and reached the final of the Conference League, lost to Chelsea.
