The 70th Barretos Boiadeiro Pawn Party will pay R $ 1.4 million in awards to competitors, being R $ 382.5 thousand directed only at winners of the 32nd Barretos International Rodeo, the party’s international rodeo – a prize level that is not common in Brazil.
“Dividing the monthly earnings, a pawn earns, on average, $ 20,000 reais per month. But of course, here we are talking about a lower estimate that does not fit the great champions who earn, in addition to paying the days worked and cash, sponsorship and other awards, such as cars and pickup trucks,” said Marcos Abud Wohnrath, president of the National Liga (LNR).
Still, the rodeos in Brazil pay a fixed compensation to the pedestrians, calculated by daily rates of $ 200. “This payment is mandatory. We pay the pawns for the days worked. If the pawn is eliminated before the whole rodeo, the most common is that it receives every day of the competition,” adds Wohnrath.

The awards vary according to the size of the rodeo and the sport. The bull riding traditionally pays more than the others.
The values of the first place prizes of the Barretos Pawn Party are not yet defined, according to the organization. Still, they are expressive compared to other rodeos in the country – while there are awards of $ 2,000 in some cities in 2024, the National Rodeo League (LNR) champion received $ 100,000 and the International Rodeo Champion, $ 200,000.

Millions of dollars awards
