The Brazilian João Fonseca moved to the third round of Cincinnati 2025 Masters 1000 After the opponent’s withdrawal, the Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, for a physical reasons. John had lost the first set 7/6 (with 7 to 4 in Tie-Break) and came back 4-0 on the second set, but Fokina went and felt a nuisance and the Brazilian turned to 5-4. As soon as she was behind the score, the Spaniard reported that she had no more conditions.

João Fonseca’s next opponent is Frenchman Terence Atmane (136th in the world), that defeated the Italian Flavio Cobolli (22nd of the world) by two sets by one (6/4, 3/6 and 7/6).

João Fonseca x Terence Atmane, for the third round of Cincinnati 2025, should take place on Monday (11/08)but there is no official confirmation of the day or time.

With the results obtained in Cincinnati, João Fonseca rose to 44th place in the ATP rankingyour best career position. The Brazilian is only 18 and 11 months old.
