Miguel Uribe Turbay, Colombian senator and presidential candidate for Colombia, is in critical condition due to a hemorrhage in the central nervous system, according to a statement issued on Saturday (9) by the Santa Fe de Bogotá Foundation, where he remains hospitalized.
He was the victim of an attack on June 7 in Bogota when he was shot while talking in a rally. Since then, he is hospitalized.
“In the last 48 hours, his clinical picture has become critical again due to a hemorrhage in the central nervous system. This picture has required new emergency neurgical procedures that successfully stabilized it,” explains the statement issued by the senator’s press team.
According to official information, “it has required the restart of neuromuscular block and deep sedation to assist its evolution,” and there are indications that it will remain in hemodynamic and neurological monitoring.
The Santa Fe Foundation added, which means that the medical team will not take information on what the next steps in treatment.
