The federal government has to consolidate the budget – and also fall back on state -owned companies. The latest example is Austria’s motorway and expressway operator ASFINAG. The Republic is the sole owner and gets a few million in the ailing federal budget over him. 50 million euros more of dividends are already fixed for 2026. This increases the profit distributions to the republic to 300 million euros. But that’s not all. The government gets another 42 million directly over the truck toll. At least that’s the story from the economy.
