‘Downton Abbey’, one of the most beloved and acclaimed series, will win its big screen version. With the Universal Pictures seal, the mark of the plot after two feature films and a five -season television series. Michelle Dockery, winner of three SAG Awards for the role of the protagonist, returns to the last chapter of the franchise that is a global phenomenon like Lady Mary Talbot.
With a debut scheduled for a month from now on September 11, the drama is directed by Simon Curtis and production by Julian Fellowes, Gareth Neame and Liz Trubridge. The production also features stars already known by fans, including Oscar Elizabeth McGovern, Samantha Bond of “007” franchise, Hugh Bonneville, “Paddington: An Adventure in the Forest”, and Jim Carter, from “Wonka”.
Set in the summer of 1930, “Downton Abbey: The Great Final,” presents the loved ones as the aristocracy and employees face new challenges, novels, scandals and social transformations. Lady Mary assumes Downton’s control amid her divorce and new relationships, symbolizing the shock between tradition and modernity.
